It starts with an idea.  Today I visit some of the more unusual sights of Alabama.  My first stop is at a pond on the property of Jule Collins Smith Museum located in the city of Auburn.  I find two very unique pieces of art stretching the imagination.  First, from the artist Alex Podesta, who creates himself in bunny suits and always in sets of two - this piece entitled, 'The Bathers'.

Second is the very imaginative piece of art - 'The Dream of Flying' by Robbie Barber.

As I barely enter the city of Valley (pop 9,286) I narrowly spot this rusted family waiting at a local train station.  The artist, Chuck Moore, used local railroad parts and textile mill machine parts for this imaginative piece of art. The Iron Man weighs in at 2,810 lbs while the rest of his family tips the scale at over 3,400 lbs.  I did the math - a total of 6,210 lbs!

Little Nadine died within days of her 5th birthday in 1933.  She wanted a doll house.  Her parents honored her birthday wish with this very detailed doll house tombstone.  Inside are actual toys for her to enjoy and beside those toys is her bed, being her gravestone.  I spend quite a bit of time admiring the details - front porch, mailbox and even a wreath for the holiday season.  Her parents have passed and are buried beside her.  The city of Lanett provides the upkeep of the memorable grave located in the Oakwood Cemetary.
