He will not be forgotton

He will not be forgotten - Bunk Richardson of Gadsden, Alabama.  Today I find myself sitting on an iron bench facing facing at our American history. A story not many of us know but a story which needs to be told.  A black man, Bunk Richardson, dragged out to the railroad bridge to be hung for a crime he did not commit.  An innocent man.  His story will not forgotten.  The discovery of this story takes effort.  On a side street, near some local homes and businesses, this plague reminds us of the story - an innocent man publicly hung because of his skin color - black.  The town was angry and took their anger out on Bunk Richardson.  I find myself sitting on the bench with so many thoughts and emotions.  It is good for us to know our history - the good and the bad.  It is our history. Let us learn from it.  Sometimes it is good to stop, sit for a bit and reflect.
