Beaches, RI
The official nickname of Rhode Island is the "Ocean State", referring to its 400 miles of coastline.  The nickname is so popular, it appears on the Rhode Island license plates.

Charlestown, RI
An angry black bear attempts to navigate his way out of a bamboo maze. A quaint observatory unveils the cosmos under one of the darkest, clearest skies along the eastern coast. In a small town inhabited by 7,000 people, a full day of adventures awaits at the Umbrella Factory.
The Umbrella Factory features a collection of distinctive, quirky shops, meandering paths through enchanting gardens, and spots to refresh your spirit. Indeed, there's a bamboo maze that provides a temporary retreat from life's hustle and bustle. Close by stands the PlaneWave CDK600 24, a telescope that unveils the Milky Way and far-off galaxies. Truly, it's a day to cherish in Rhode Island, and surprisingly, not an umbrella in sight!

Providence, RI
Spanning 427 acres, the Roger Williams Park showcases a seamless fusion of ancient and modern architecture. It provides a multitude of activities suitable for every age group, establishing it as a key attraction in Providence, the capital city.
Established in 1873, the park originally featured a zoo. Today, as visitors wander through, they can find traces of the past where seals and elephants were once displayed. The park boasts several ponds that provide a host of activities, such as the charming, old-fashioned swan boat rides. Imposing statues captivate those eager to learn, and if one observes carefully, they might discover mushrooms intricately carved from tree stumps. Indeed, it's an enjoyable day out for everyone!

Westerly, RI
In the southwest corner of Rhode Island is a gem to visit for the day.  Let us begin with strolling the uncrowded sandy beach of Misquamicut Beach. In the late afternoon, walk across the small road to a true crab shack, Two Little Fish.  Award winning seafood platters making your mouth water and stomach growl.  To end this day, lets jump in the car and drive next door to the Misquamicut Drive-In for a nostalgic night of watching the terrifying, original JAWS film.  Yep, only on the coastline of Rhode Island!
