Narragansett Beach, RI
Rarely will you see a tourist if you travel down a bit from the public beaches. Walking and occasional puddle jumping along the huge rock surfaces is a very uplifting experience.  You might come across a few folks fishing along the waters.  The sound of the waves crashing and the feel of the salty breeze against your skin is a true northeastern experience.

West Kingston, RI
Indeed, grass farms do exist! Kingston Turf reigns supreme among Rhode Island's grass farms, cultivating over 300 acres of the lush greenery we often take for granted. Visiting such a farm is quite the spectacle, with vast expanses of green, colossal irrigation equipment, and neatly cut lines preparing rolls of grass for sale. And we think our water bills are steep!

Block Island

For over 90 years, a memorable ferry experience is available to visit the quaint Block Island. The ferry offers multiple decks to enjoy the endless views and cool sea breeze.   This 9-sqaure-mile island provides a full day of pristine beaches, rock cliffs, two lighthouses and cool places to shop.  Forty-percent of the island is undeveloped offering a fantastic resting spot for birds on their Atlantic flyway.
As you get off the one-hour ferry and begin exploring the small Block Island, you will find yourself in awe with the beauty of the pristine shore.  The island features 17 miles of beaches with the majority isolated and almost without the presence of humans.  Breathing the cool air, feeling the light breeze and admiring the beauty makes for a perfect, relaxing day on Block Island.

One lighthouse on the north-end and one lighthouse on the south-end lights up this small island.  Both were built in the 1800's.  The distance between both is a mere 7 miles, which is the total length of the island.
At the tip of the Block Island, there are 141 steps bringing you to a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean.  Many say this view is the best in all of Rhode Island.  The waves crash on clay cliffs!  The bluffs scream towards the heavens!  The climb, down and up, is absolutely worth the experience.

Only 12-miles from the coastline of Rhode Island lays a "slice of heaven." Enjoy the soothing experience as you glide on the calm waters, feel a slight breeze and enjoy the spectacular views from different locations throughout the ferry. The early morning ride out and an early evening return ride offers two completely different experiences.
