A retired Vermont school teacher hand-built a 122-foot-long and 25-foot-tall dino out of scrap wood.  The structure was so big the city decided it needed a building permit.  The teacher fought and fought with the city stating it was art, not a building.  He finally won the battle.  A baby Vermontasaurus was added to the airfield several years later.  And yes, as you looked at the pictures you might have seen a piano.  A bizarre place to play the piano, but at least there is shade. :)

A huge Rhino bursting out of a second floor wall?! A real stop-in-your-tracks roadside attraction! A very realistic head crashing though the wall of Conant Metal and Lights store.

In 1975, mythical flying monkeys invaded the city of Burlington!

The real story is these massive creatures were part of a promotion for a once established waterbed company, Enerald City of Oz,  The store no longer exists but the creatures have moved and continue to reside on the former Union Train Station.  The original two have delivered twins, in the years, creating a family of six in Burlington, Vermont.

A LAKE MONSTER reported in Lake Champlain! Oh My Gosh!  There have been over 300 reported sightings of a massive, green monster lurking the waters off the shores of Burlington, Vermont.  The first sighting was in 1609, by a cartographer (a maker and user of maps), Samuel de Champlain.  The monster's name is "Champ."  On the dock, there is a highly neglected figure of what Champ looks like.
As you scour the waters for Champ, you will marvel at the beauty of Lake Champlain.

A pesky mosquito problem turns into a head-turning road trip stop. It began with one handmade birdhouse hung attracting a local bird to gobble down those annoying insects. Today, over 1,000 are hung, all created by the original mosquito terminator duo - we mean local couple, Hank and Jay. If you look deep into the woods, you might be lucky to catch a rare glimpse of a dinosaur or two.
